Now Showing at the McDonogh School

Nov. 15 - Dec. 20th

Tuttle Gallery

I’m excited to be have a solo show at the McDonogh School, just outside of Baltimore. As a product of both New Orleans and Baltimore, I’m thrilled to have been invited to show work at the school which was funded by John McDonogh’s estate after his death. He was a native of Baltimore who lived out most of his adult life in New Orleans. When he died, he designated that half of his wealth be split between Baltimore and New Orleans to fund the construction of public schools.

McDonogh made his fortune through real estate, which was primarily acquired by the wealth made from his slave and plantation ownership.

Given my own relationship to New Orleans and Baltimore, I’m excited to have the opportunity to showcase work that explores my own family’s relationship to the educational system in both cities.

The show is on view from November 15th-December 20, 2021.
